Following the hugely successful 2025 Commodore’s Cup, the Kelowna Yacht Club is once again offering a double-barreled regatta. For the second straight year, the Cup’s open PHRF regatta will be bolstered by a U35 segment of the club’s preeminent annual regatta on the fabulous waters of Okanagan Lake.

Check-In:

Friday, August 14 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm PDT at the Kelowna Yacht Club Grand Banquet room.

Saturday, August 15 from 8:00 am to 10:00 am PDT at the Kelowna Yacht Club Grand Banquet room.

Racing | Open PHRF: 

Scheduled time for the first warning signal on Saturday, August 15, 2026, is 10:00 am PDT with no race starting later than 4:00 pm PDT. Weather permitting, Saturday racing will include a distance component using a combination of KYC fixed marks between and A and E.

Scheduled time for the first warning signal on Sunday, August 16, 2026, is 10:00 am PDT with no race starting later than 2:30 pm PDT.

Racing | U35:

Scheduled time for the first warning signal on Saturday, August 15, 2026, is 10:30 am PDT with no race starting later than 4:00 pm PDT.

Scheduled time for the first warning signal on Sunday, August 16, 2026, is 10:00 am PDT with no race starting later than 2:30 pm PDT.

Social Events: 

Friday, August 14

5:00-7:00PM: Registration & Check-In · Commodore’s Dock
· All Skippers are asked to check-in at the Registration table
     · All participants are asked to check-in at the registration table to receive their wristband.

5:00-10:00PM: Welcome Social · Commodore’s Dock
· Grab your lawn chair, cooler & drinks and meet us on the Commodore’s Dock to kick off the Regatta with a chef attended BBQ and live music.

6:00 PM: Race to Alaska Presentation · Commodore’s Dock

· Hear from Team Celerity as they share highlights from their incredible Race to Alaska adventure!

 

Saturday, August 15

8:00-9:30AM: Breakfast · Grand Banquet Room (Second Floor of KYC Clubhouse)
· Available for all participants with a weekend meal ticket. Please note, no other food service will be available in the Grand Banquet Room at this time.

9:30AM: Competitors’ Meeting · Commodore’s Dock

Registration FAQ

Regatta Makeup

The 2026 Commodores Cup features both an Open PHRF Regatta and a U35 Invitational. These two regattas will share the Lake, event facilities, and social activities throughout the weekend at the Kelowna Yacht Club.

As this is a participation-focused event, all competitors are required to purchase a Competitor Ticket for the weekend. The ticket includes access to the regatta’s social activities and catered meal events. Skipper registration for the Open PHRF includes your Competitor Ticket.

KYC Members

To have your ticket member charged for this event, please apply the coupon code: KYCMemberCharge (case sensitive) at the checkout page. Copy or write this code down, as you won’t see it on the checkout page.

Dietary Restrictions

KYC is happy to accommodate any dietary restrictions. If you have any, please add those restrictions to the registration.

Proof of Age (U35 only)

Competitors may be asked for age verification when checking in for the Regatta. Please bring your ID on Friday night.

Marina Access Cards for Crew

All paid competitors will have their KYC access cards activated for this Regatta. If you do not have a KYC access card, one may be purchased ($10 + GST) at Registration on Friday night.

Vessel Registration (U35 only)

The regatta will be sailed on Santana 525 one-design boats supplied by the Organizing Authority (OA), many of which have been generously donated for use during this event. Therefore, vessel registration is required and may be completed here at no cost. All competitors, including skippers, for the U35 must register as competitors here regardless of vessel ownership.

Skipper & Crew Registration (Open PHRF)
All participants in the Commodores Cup Open PHRF Regatta are required to register as competitors. A Competitor Ticket must be purchased by each participant; however, skippers registering a vessel here are not required to purchase an additional Competitor Ticket.
